The Duke of Edinburgh Award

Santa Maria College has the strongest and most successful Duke of Ed program in Victoria. This program builds emotional resilience, physical and mental strength and the capacity to work in and serve the community.

Duke of Edinburgh comprises:

• adventure experiences
• recreation
• skills development
• community service

The program has three developmental stages. The Bronze Award is integrated into the Year 9 curriculum. The Silver and Gold Awards are electives at Years 10 and 11. 

The completion of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh allows students to apply for all Early Entry Access Schemes at University level.
