Welcome to the Santa Maria College website. Our College caters for the education of young women from Years 7-12. Our aim is to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment that is responsible for the needs of our students academically, physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and pastorally.
Benedictine Spirituality and Good Samaritan Values are the foundation of our pastoral care approach. Our Mission statement says: We celebrate our diversity by developing critical social awareness and a reverence and responsibility towards all creation. In this educational environment we strive to nurture an atmosphere of trust and hope where our students are accepted, affirmed, encouraged and challenged to grow to their full potential.
Pastoral care permeates all areas of our College. Students in our school community are valued, respected and encouraged to realise their full potential. It is through valuing the intrinsic worth of each person that the Santa Maria College Community continues to grow and to be enriched.
As an authorised International Baccalaureate World School, Santa Maria College is proud to teach the Middle Years Program (MYP) from Years 7-10. This internationally recognised approach to learning calls on students to engage with the content they are covering and the concepts that underpin the learning. Young women at Santa Maria are encouraged to ask questions, seek answers and apply these new understandings to a real-world context.
Our House system fosters a sense of community and support for students, staff and parents. It encourages a sense of belonging, spirit, enthusiasm and connectedness that supports student growth and development. This feeling of community and belonging is very important at Santa Maria College as it allows students to feel connected and enhances their learning. In this environment, students enjoy learning, are engaged in activities and are challenged.
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about our community and to see what we can offer your daughter.
