Social
Justice is integral to life at Santa Maria College. We are guided
by the Benedictine tradition of hospitality and the compassion of
the Good Samaritan in helping those who are less fortunate.
As part of the Social Justice program, led by our Social Justice
Co-ordinator and Mission Captain, students participate in a number
of activities including: "Rosie's Friendship Van" at Flinders
Street Station, serving meals to the homeless; Winter Sleepout for
the Melbourne City Mission; and St Joseph's Collingwood Breakfast
Program where students bring breakfast to the school children.
Each year, some of our senior girls participate in the Good
Samaritan Ministry Outreach Program, where they travel to Sydney to
work with the destitute.
